WELCOME NOTE
I am honoured and delighted to welcome all the eminent speakers, fellow colleagues from different mining houses across the country, service providers, subject matter experts, partners, and exhibitors to COAL SAFE 2024. The success of the conference depends ultimately on the committee that worked on planning and organizing the entire event. Recognition should go to all the committee members for their inputs and commitment, as well as our adjudication panel, partners, speakers, and attendees. My heartfelt appreciation goes to all of you, THANK YOU.
Theme
The theme for COAL SAFE 2024 is SAFEGUARDING TODAY WHILE ENABLING A SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW. As an industry we have a responsibility to do what we can in the social programs we run and in how we manage our operations (ESG). The decisions we make should help us in defending our current business (to remain profitable and operational) but also enable us to have sustainable communities, environment, healthy and safe employees. The mining industry, coal mining in particular, is instrumental in the development of our economy and supporting ecosystems.
Words From SACMA:
The South African Colliery Managers’ Association is looking forward to bringing together the state, employer, labour members and service providers to share best practices, collaborate and network. We trust that you will find this conference stimulating, rewarding and meaningful.
Stay Safe and Healthy!
Yours in HSEC
